According to Law No. 12 of 2011, the DNA Research Center was founded at the University of Babylon in 2013. The center comprises present and proposed departments for the next five years.

Available services:

The DNA Research Center of the University of Babylon provides a variety of scientific and academic services to the academic community, as well as social services to governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Our current services include DNA diagnostic services for governmental institutions, including the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Human Rights.

In addition, the center undertakes theoretical and applied research in forensic evidence, genetic fingerprinting, molecular biology, and biochemistry.

Additionally, it trains students and equips them with specialized skills that enable them to operate in various state institutions. In addition, to ensure the formation of specialist conferences and seminars.

In addition to the aforementioned, the DNA Research Center offers the following services: Providing a research environment to search for innovative solutions to problems, terms the center is a source and reference for information in the field of DNA research, and the center is accountable for communicating with the community through training courses, workshops, and community events.

Develop a plan to form multidisciplinary research teams in the domains of biology, chemistry, forensics, biotechnology, genetic engineering, environmental sciences, and agriculture in order to increase their cooperation.
